Pharmacy Services

The Outpatient Pharmacy at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is conveniently located on the first floor, just inside the Third Street entrance. We offer convenient 15-minute parking for our pharmacy customers at the Third Street entrance. Our Outpatient Pharmacy services are available to all Ephraim McDowell Health Associates and their dependents as well as to our patients, visitors and the community.

Besides being able to meet your prescription needs, our Outpatient Pharmacy also offers over-the-counter medications, health and beauty aids, bandages or supplies that patients leaving the hospital or visitors might need during their stay. We will gladly order any medication we don’t have on hand or obtain it from our Inpatient Pharmacy in order to meet the discharge needs of our patients before they go home.

We accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid and most Medicare Part D plans. Patients may pay with cash, check, debit or credit cards. Associates may use badge swipe for payment via payroll deduction. Discounts are available for Associates on some over-the-counter medications. Patients going home can have families bring down prescriptions to be filled before they leave the hospital or request the nurse/pharmacist to fax the prescription to the pharmacy for pickup after discharge.

The Outpatient Pharmacy also provides prescriptions to Hope Clinic patients during designated hours. Those hours are Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Hope Clinic patients cannot pick up medications before 2 p.m.

Prescription refills are available online or by calling the pharmacy at (859)239-1706. We also offer Medication Therapy Management (MTM) to Associates and dependents covered on our Ephraim McDowell Health prescription plan to help lower your prescription co-pay by up to 50%. Non-Associates may also participate in Medication Therapy Management clinic to maximize their understanding of their medication regimen and reduce risks of adverse events. Non-Associates participating in MTM service are eligible for reduced cost on prescriptions filled through our Outpatient Pharmacy.
