Nursing Library with Internet access
Our Nursing Library contains numerous resource materials to assist you in researching diagnoses and preparing educational material for your patients. The library is equipped with a computer that includes access to the Internet. There is also a special Intranet for the nursing staff that features essential information about hospital systems and nursing department news/updates.

Networks with area colleges
To help us ensure that quality health care professionals are always available, we work closely with colleges in the area to develop and grow our nursing base.

Professional certifications for registered nurses
The American Nurses Credential Center’s Magnet Designation program has a list of approved professional certifications available for registered nurses.  There are a wide range of choices.  Ephraim McDowell Health nurses are encouraged to pursue the certification that may be of interest to them.  EMH Associate Education provides support to staff in obtaining certification through study guides and classes.  Once the certification test is taken and passed, EMH has a reimbursement and reward policy for completion.
