School-Age Child Care Program

The School-Age Child Care Program at A Children's Place is available to children ages 6 to 10 years old. Services are available both before and after school, and all-day service is available during the summer and school holidays.

Children playing gameWhen children arrive after school, they are allowed a period of free time, which gives them a chance to unwind from the structured school environment they have just left. Following free time, students may choose from several centers of learning, including a housekeeping center, a science center, a dramatic play area or a center of puzzles and games. A homework area is also available for children who have homework to do, and group projects are planned regularly.

The summer program follows a specific theme that is different each year. Activities are planned around the chosen theme, and field trips are also a part of the summer program.
